Choker Sets

Terracotta choker sets that sit close at the collarbone — 14 to 16 inches, the length that suits high-necked and heavily worked blouses where a long haaram would disappear against fabric.

Each choker is shaped without moulds, sun-dried two days, kiln-fired at high heat, then painted and sealed by hand with kemp stones set one at a time. The cotton dori adjusts, so the same piece fits snug or slightly loose.

Because the colour is concentrated at the collarbone rather than spread down a strand, a choker reads stronger than the same shade in a longer set — worth knowing if you want a colour to carry the outfit.

Chokers photograph particularly well against plain silk. If you are pairing one with a Kanjivaram, keep the earrings small and let the neckline do the work. They also layer under a haaram if you want both.

About this collection

How to choose a neckpiece

A short choker sits at the collarbone and suits high-necked blouses. Haarams fall below the chest and read best against a plain silk saree. If you are wearing both, keep the earrings small so the neckline stays the focus.
